Hand-sewn 1780s stays, based on an original in the Colonial Williamsburg collection. Boning is oak splint and flat steels (in the tabs). Outer fabric is a teal worsted wool, two layers of heavy unbleached linen, and a loose white linen lining. Bound in leather. Stitched with a heavy linen thread.
Beautiful photo I love the clothes
your work is always gorgeous. Makes me want to make more stays.
Beautiful as always! I like the leather binding. You must have a great thimble.
Once again, amazing. They are beautiful, like they were sewn on a magic sewing machine! But no, you did it by hand!!! Blows my mind really, but I suppose that's how they used to do it!
If you don't mind my asking, what brand of pattern's do you prefer to use?
Lovely as usual! Theses look like they fit very well and are comfortable.
